This beautiful white silk dress from Chloè is exactly what I’ve been dreaming about wearing to my yoga teacher training graduation this Sunday. We have to wear white to the ceremony, and so I had to do something about this as I don’t usually wear white because I feel it doesn’t suit my complexion, but as I am a little more tanned these days from living in the sunshine, it should be ok – I hope! I bought myself a simple white cotton v-neck tee and my beautiful best friend Kirsty found me a fab pair of white linen pants at a market stall. So while I may not be wearing this luxurious number above, I will still feel every bit as glamourous. There’s something about wearing white, don’t you agree? White contains equal balance of all the colours on the spectrum, it’s reflective, embodies growth and creativity, it is the colour of protection, promotes peace, comfort and helps to keep you calm, offering inner cleansing, purifying thoughts, emotions, your spirit and strengthening your entire energy system.

It is amazing to me how quickly this year has passed. I have started writing about my journey because I learned so much I feel it is part of my continuing journey to document the highs and lows and “just plough-through-it” experiences I have lived through over the course of the past twelve months. So far I’ve landed a teaching gig at a local studio and I began last week. It is exciting and beautiful to be able to serve as a yoga teacher finally! It has been an incredible experience, it has changed me forever.

Have a wonderful weekend, the spring weather here has been perfect, sunny days and cool nights and the blood moon the other night was insane!

I Wish, from the Paris Spring Summer 2014 runways

It has taken all week to find inspiration in the collections from Paris this fashion week. Yes the designers always excel at sending avant garde designs down the runways but this fashion week, I honestly think many of them were simply trying too hard. Way harsh maybe, but each to their own, right?

I’ll start with my favourite collection which was at Chloe. Khaki, navy, pleats, shorts, prints, simple elegance.

Valentino was divine as always, there were hints of the 70s, aztec and very boho inspired.

Alexander McQueen – structured and feminine, and yet not really. I couldn’t decide if I liked this collection because some of the models looked dreadfully unwell, I don’t know if it was the lighting or the makeup. I don’t usually mention things like this but I felt it really detracted from the clothes.

Miu Miu turned out to be my second favourite collection this fashion week. It was warm and quirky, the clothes very wearable and the gorgeous sumptuous colours and the boots and tights, which I always fall for!

Finally, Hermes which was delovely and I am posting this picture of Cat McNeil because she evokes memories of Grace Kelly in Mogambo.

The key trend spotted have definitely been shorts, and I love shorts so this is exciting stuff because over the next season we will see more and more in the high street shops. I’ve blogged before about shorts so prepare for more!

Lily Cole Tim Walker 5-723687

I have to admit the internet is so amazing somedays because earlier today I was feeling so uninspired with today’s Frock Friday post that I was actually thinking of taking a break from blogging – truly! I guess it’s because lately I’ve been feeling that I’m not hitting the mark, but then I came across this image of Lily Cole in this 2005 Vogue UK editorial “Lily Takes a Trip” and suddenly, I stopped. I was blown away by the beauty and  Tim Walker‘s genius. I have been exploring his work lately and I’m liking his photography more and more. The glow from the sun and the way it bounces off the wall Lily is leaning on, plus the pink bougainvillea flowers strewn on the ground and tumbling down the wall behind her. Then we have the subject of the photograph, Lily Cole with her butterfly net and in a very cute Chloè frock – the combination of all these elements make this picture so memorable. Do you have a favourite fashion image? If you do, I’d love to hear from you. Just leave a reply. xx

Have a lovely weekend!

A beautifully captured image of this Chloè Spring Summer 2012 dress in full street style mode! I chose a Chloè dress today in honour of my daughter Chloè’s 9th birthday, happy birthday to my beautiful, horse-mad, always happy, smiley girl!

I’m posting early today as we are heading straight out for dinner tonight to celebrate, I spent all afternoon yesterday baking cupcakes for Chloè to take to class today and for us to take to dinner tonight. Vanilla and gluten-free for school and strawberry and cream for us! I didn’t get time to spray the horses silver to put on top, so I’m going to hold onto that idea for next year.

It’s also the birthday today of my two oldest and dearest friends, and tomorrow evening hubby and I are going to Brisbane to help them celebrate, can’t wait! Happy Birthday Mand and Deb, I love you! xxoo

I hope you all have an amazing and relaxing weekend. xx

Tinker Tailored Trousers

The 2013 Cruise/Resort collections are all over the web right now and I came across these gorgeous pants from the Chloè Resort 2013 collection today and have fallen totally in love!

Drop-waisted and tapered at the ankle with hems finished looking quite like the sleeve of a tailored shirt, don’t you think?
