Carole Lombard (1908-1942) was the highest paid star in Hollywood in the late 1930’s.
Sadly Lombard’s life was cut short when she was killed in a plane crash at the age of 33.
She was married to Clark Gable at the time of her death.
To those who knew Gable, she was the love of his life and some say he never recovered from her death.
On screen Lombard was known for her comedic performances and off screen for her unpretentious personality, she was easy-going and down-to-earth.
Lombard received an nomination for Best Actress in 1936 for My Man Godfrey.
Her final movie “To Be Or Not To Be” was released after her death in 1942.
